CDC has not only hid the problem but they hid the solution. In October 2006 the Sierra Club contact Dr. B.C. Wolverton and had him test a portable high efficiency plant filter in a fema trailer inhabited by a young couple and their child. Initial tests showed the tralier had a formaldehyde level of 0.18 ppm. Dr. Wolerton who had been the head NASA scientist in charge of purification of air and water installed his portable unit and in two days levels of formaldehyde in the trailer were reduced to 0.03 ppm (an 83.4% reduction) making the trailer safe for human habitation. CDC was notified but never responded. This product was already on the market in Japan and tens of thousands of people could have had their health protected. Dr. Wolverton has won the Federal Environmental Engineering Award of the Year and has been inducted into the NASA Hall of Fame. He has written a book, "How to Grow Fresh Air" which has sold more than 100,000 copies and has been translated into 12 languages.
CDC has turned a blind eye to the entire situation and would like to continue to do so. If you would like further information contact Martin Mittelmark at 518-580-1417 or Dr. Wolverton at 601-798-5875.
