Has the missing White House email caper drawn to a close? The Washington Post’s Del Quentin Wilbur reports that the lawsuit filed by two D.C. watchdog groups against the White House has been thrown out. A U.S. district court judge ruled that the Freedom of Information Act does not apply to the White House’s Office of Administration.

If you’re understanding the back story of the missing White House emails, then you’re truly understanding government, including the subtle difference between Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes. But behind the intricate legal and technological arguments lies the question of whether George W. Bush and Dick Cheney deliberately deleted emails about the most controversial administration matters, including the run up to the Iraq War. It looks like we may never get an answer. -MB
