JUSTICE TO FURTHER EMPOWER FBI AGENTS

The Washington Post’s Carrie Johnson reports that the Justice Dept. is putting into place today new rules that increase the power of FBI agents. The rules basically allow the FBI to interview people related to an investigation, without a warrant, without telling their superior. The rules make the FBI a more proactive agency, which, to civil liberties advocates, might not be such a good thing. But at least this time around the FBI announced the increased latitude of their investigators. They didn’t after 9/11.-MB
