Adam Cohen has a piece on the New York Times editorial page on the numerous illegal maneuvers during the Bush administration — like military commissions, warrantless wiretapping, certain provisions of the Patriot Act– and whether Obama will roll them back.

This is a fairly well-covered issue, but I like the way Cohen emphasized that Obama needs to actively change these rules, as opposed to simply not continuing the Bush administration’s worst practices. Goals like restoring the military code of justice will require Obama to do something perhaps unprecedented — roll back his own presidential powers.-MB
