One more reason to forget about newspapers: they don’t even have the muscle to get their papers delivered.  Yes, this is a curmudgeonly blog post about how I didn’t get my newspaper on Saturday, Sunday, and even today.  Yes, this is a nostalgic note about how in the old days, when the neighborhood paperboy or papergirl delivered the paper, it was always at your door in the morning.  But it’s also about the Washington Post abandoning its mission to be a daily source of news on paper for more than 500,000 people in the Washington area, and about a missed opportunity:  if the Post had gotten its act together on Saturday, hired enough drivers with 4WD vehicles, pressed into employ its entire staff and more, it could have delivered the paper on Sunday — and certainly today — after much of the snow has been cleared away.  Imagine the effect on readers if in spite of the awesome storm, they nonetheless got their Sunday paper (the anchor of the entire subscription base).  Nice going, Posties — you showed you don’t have the guts to accomplish the most elementary part of delivering the news.
